Bring out the twinkies, because it's time to celebrate!

There's been rumours for nearly a decade. It now looks like Zombieland 2 is finally going to happen and if that wasn't exciting enough, the whole cast is back!

There's no denying since the 2009 release, Zombieland has gained classic cult status. After a failed attempt to continue the story on the small screen, fans of the film will be getting a full feature-length sequel.

During a recent interview with Vulture, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have said they hope to celebrate the film's 10th anniversary, with a sequel reuniting Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin. Now they've just got to work out a way to bring Bill Murray back!

"We’re going on the tenth anniversary of Zombieland. Zombieland came out October of 2009. We don’t know what you get someone for their tenth anniversary, but it may be a Zombieland 2. The hope is that we’re shooting that thing early 2019 for an October of ’19 release. With the original cast, by the way.

We are sitting on information that we can’t entirely share at this moment, but we can just say we think fans of Zombieland who have been hoping for a Zombieland 2, that we will grant their wish very, very soon."

Fans have hoped for a sequel for nearly 10 years and it looks like it's finally going to happen! With the original cast returning, this is literally a dream come true.

Abigail Breslin is no longer the little pint-sized actress she was when the original was filmed. Actually, all the cast have had their fair share of growth. It has been 10 years afterall. I'd totally be keen for a sequel that picks up ten years later showing what our favourite zombie hunters have been up to! While there's no word on the plot yet, the possibilities are truly endless.
