Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has released Battle at Big Rock, a brand new short film he directed and wrote with Emily Carmichael. The 9-minute short is set one year after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in Big Rock National Park.

As fans would remember the last film, saw several dinosaurs being set free into the human world. Now it seems a year later they have been breeding and populating and become anything but extinct. Battle at Big Rock tells the story of a family who encounters the now freely roaming dinosaurs and find themselves in a fight for their lives.

While we still have a while to wait for the final Jurassic World flick, one thing this short does is clear up a longstanding rumour. That is the third Jurassic World would deal with the aftermath of the dinosaurs being set free and how humans would be forced to coexist with the previously extinct creatures.

Rumour has it that this might be the first of several short films that will be released in the coming months, and we're all for it!
