It's time for a whole new world! Disney has finally premiered its first look at Guy Ritchie's live-action Aladdin flick. The film follows the premise of the original animated classic, with the teaser kicking off with the film's earlier moments, we get a glimpse of Agrabah, the Cave of Wonders and our first look at Mena Massoud as Aladdin reaching for the lamp and just like that, it's over. It is a tease after all.

Will Smith is stepping into the role of the flamboyant Genie, while the film will also star Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Nasim Pedrad (Dalia), Billy Magnussen (Prince Anders) and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar), but apparently, Disney is saving those reveals for later.

Aladdin is just one of the many live-action adaptations of Disney classics in production at the moment. The Lion King, Dumbo, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp, and most recently announced Lilo & Stitch, are all set to be receiving the same treatment.

Aladdin will hit cinemas May 24, 2019.
