While the cast announcement for The Lion King live-action remake has us all excited beyond belief, this news comes as a bit of a surprise.

Word, is Elton John and Beyonce are teaming up to work on the movie's soundtrack, which truly is great news, but it might come at the sacrifice of one best songs of the original. If Elton John is to be believed, "Be Prepared" won't be a part of the new movie's soundtrack.

During a recent interview, the singer revealed, not only is he working with Beyonce on a new song for the end credits but several of the songs from the original will be making it into Jon Favreau's upcoming reimagining of the animated classic.

The surprise is, when he listed off the four songs to be included, one song, in particular, was left out. "Be Prepared." If this is the case, this means for whatever reason, Scar isn't going to be singing one of the film's most beloved tunes this time around.

Here's what Elton John had to say:

"They need to have a new end credits song. There's going to be four of our songs in the film, from the original: Can You Feel The Love Tonight? Hakuna Matata, I Just Can't Wait To Be King and Circle of Life. And then there will be an end, closing song, and we've been speaking to Beyonce's people and hopefully Tim and I and her can cook up something. That's going out in 2019 as well. And it will be great to work with her. So we will see."

It's so easy to get caught up in the idea that Beyonce is not only voicing Nala and that's she's going to be working alongside Elton John. But he's specific as to what songs from the original will be used with no mention of "Be Prepared."

"Be Prepared" was an amazing sequence in which Jeremy Irons who voiced Scar revealed his plan to kill Mufasa. It was truly one of the highlights of the film not to mention you just couldn't help but sing along.

In the remake, Chiwetel Ejiofor is taking over the role. How will this scene play out? Will he sing a different song? Or will Scar simply be telling the Hyenas through spoken word? I'm sure leaving out such a classic and beloved song from the soundtrack will disappoint some fans.

With the exception of leaving out "Be Prepared" from the soundtrack, everything else about The Lion King live-action remake seems rather impressive. Jon Favreau has lined up one hell of a stellar cast and the movie will without a doubt be a visual masterpiece. Bring on July 19, 2019!
