Great news for fans of Ryan Murphy's Pose. The series just scored the addition of a stage and screen legend. Patti LuPone is officially joining the cast of season two.

LuPone who is currently starring in the West End revival of Steven Sondheim's Company will star in a recurring guest role during the second series of the acclaimed drama which is expected premiere later this year.

The news was revealed at the Pose panel during PaleyFest on Saturday, with Murphy teasing that LuPone would be sharing plenty of scenes with MJ Rodriguez who plays Blanca Evangelista.

“We’ve come up with this great role for Patti LuPone. She loves the show, and we wrote this part, and she said, ‘Yes, I want to do it,’ so she’s coming to play with us in a couple weeks,” Murphy told panel attendees.

LuPone is no stranger to Murphy's shows previously appearing in Glee and American Horror Story: Coven, and we're sure he's lined up the perfect role for her.

Pose co-creator Steven Canals also revealed that season two will star eighteen months after the events of the first season on March 27, 1990. Now, if you're wondering why this date might sound familiar it is because it's the day that Madonna released 'Vogue.'

As we all know, the song became an international hit, while the music video featured several gay dancers and ballroom performers most notably Jose Gutierez Xtravaganza and Luis Xtravaganza Camacho from the legendary ballroom House of Xtravaganza.

Considering the season two picks up 18 months later and also at the height of the ongoing HIV epidemic in New York, it's safe to say things will be looking quite a bit different since the last time we caught up with the House of Evangelista.

While we still wait for a trailer, enjoy this classic little bit of history thanks to Madonna!
