Grab the tissues because it looks like we'll be saying farewell to your favourite inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary. In surprise news, it has been announced that the award-winning show will be finishing up in 2019 after seven captivating seasons.

The women of Litchfield have done everything from being incarcerated to rioting, to falling in love and even going so far to sell used underwear on the black market. Now 2019 will see them leave our television screens.

In a gut-punching video, our beloved cast members announced that the next season of Orange is the New Black would be its last.

“After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison. I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with. My heart is orange but fade to black,” says creator Jenji Kohan.

So many mixed emotions right now. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Are you ready to say goodbye?

Stock up on tissues and start rewatching the entire series as the final season will premiere on Netflix February 2019.
