Ready to get lost in space all over again? Netflix has announced the launch date for their new modern-day take on the classic sci-fi series, Lost In Space.

NASA astronauts on the International Space Station had the privilege of seeing the pilot episode before the rest of the galaxy who have to wait for the planet earth premiere on April 13, 2018.

Watch Netflix's date announcement below.

The new Netflix Original Series will be a dramatic and modern retelling of the 1960's series. Set 30 years in the future, space colonisation is now a reality and the Robinson family are among those selected to make a new life for themselves on a new planet

Things go astray when the colonists find themselves abruptly torn of course and are forced to forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous new alien environment, thousands of light-years away from their original destination.

Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders. Firstly we get a gender swap with the character of Dr. Smith played by Parker Posey (yes, you read that right). Smith is a master of manipulation with a mysterious end game. I loved Posey as Rita Repulsa in the recent Power Rangers movie and can't wait to see what she will bring to the character and series. She really does have playing psychotic manipulate bitch down pat.

Secondly we have Don West played by Ignacio Serricchio, a high-skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on the wrong planet. Oh the mystery!

I already like the sound of this! Lost in Space also stars Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Max Jenkins, Taylor Russell and Mina Sundwall.

From what I'm hearing this new series will be up there with Star Trek: Discovery and will have a gritty modern-day reimagining, so I'm totally keen!
