One of the most iconic musicians of all time is finally about to tell his story. There's no denying there's been a lot written about Elton John over the years, but now it seems the 'Tiny Dancer' singer is going to reveal all.

Turning to Twitter he made the surprise announcement writing, "My life has been one helluva roller coaster ride and I’m now ready to tell you my story, in my own words. My first and only official autobiography will be released October 2019."

“I have a book coming out, which is my first autobiography,” he says in the accompanying video while sitting in his favourite bookstore in London. “I can’t wait for you to read it because it’s the truth and so many books that have been written about me haven’t exactly been truthful.”

“I’m not prone to being a nostalgic person,” The icon previously teased in 2016, “I’m often accused of only looking forward to my next gig or creative project. It’s come as quite a surprise how cathartic I am finding the process of writing my memoirs. As I look back, I realize what a crazy life I have had the extreme privilege of living.”

It's safe to say it's gonna be one hell of a read. However, his book won't be the only story about his life released this year. May will see the release of the musical fantasy biopic Rocketman in which Elton John produced and stars Taron Egerton in the lead role.

According to publishing house Macmillan's website, the autobiography will be released in October with the title and cover yet to be revealed. In the meantime is available for preorder in hardcover, paperback, and e-book.
