Are we getting a bisexual Spider-Man?

It seems like the next craze to hit superhero movies is more queer characters. It's long overdue, but it seems that we'll be seeing a lot more queer superheroes in the future. I'm all for the representation and inclusiveness as long as it is done right.

Some of you might recall current Spider-man, Tom Holland, as part of a video interview for GQ that he would like to see a gay-spiderman. The actor went on to say he thought it would "be a very progressive way to kind of create a new character." He also added that he hoped to one day share a screen with that character. It looks like he might get that wish.

According to We Got This Covered, Sony is interested in bringing a bisexual Spider-Man into the Spider-verse. Sources say that Sony is looking to have Holland share the screen with former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in live-action Spider-Verse movie.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. Rumours are Sony is looking to have Garfield come back as a bi-sexual. Allegedly Sony isn't planning just to do lip service to his character's sexuality. Garfield's character would have an onscreen boyfriend.

Apparently, no decisions are being made just yet. For now, it could just be all talk, and nothing actually eventuates from it. I'm not sure about you, but I could get on board with a queer take on everyone's favourite friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
